Dive Blue Grotto and discover the rich beauty and thrilling experience of diving the largest clear water cavern in Florida. You will be able to dive to a depth of 100 ft. into this cavern. Picnic Tables, bathhouse and the safest cavern dive in the area make Blue Grotto a wonderful dive experience - especially for new divers.
Descend down the first 70 feet of open water to view a variety of fish, fossils, and maybe a friendly turtle. Stop along the dive at 30 feet to check out the air bell that made Blue Grotto famous. The bell is located at the ceiling of the cavern and is supplied with compressed air from the surface. The Blue Grotto air bell is a perfect place to stop and talk to your dive buddy. A permanent guide line brings you safely around a crescent shaped cavern at a 100 foot depth. As your dive ascends out of the Blue Grotto cavern, look around and watch your bubbles run up the side of the cavern wall like an upside down waterfall.

Alexander Springs, located in central Florida, is known for its safe open water dive. The shallow depths and small caverns make an for excellent novice dive. The spring basin is one of the lar
gest I’ve seen, almost 300 ft. wide. While depths don’t exceed 30 ft, their are some small caverns to explore that make it an enjoyable scuba dive. Snorkelers can also enjoy the basin and freedive to most of the exciting parts. The main cavern can be penetrated for about 10 ft. at a depth of 23 feet. There is a strong flow at the deepest part from a vent. There is a lot of marine wildlife here and a chance you might even see a gator! Name: Captain “Wild Eye” Judd
Many a lad and lass has trained with Captain Judd “Wild Eye” Spence. The evil glare from his one glazed over lazy eye is sure to send shivers down your spine! Crew and passengers alike run for cover when this Captain shouts orders.
His parrot “One Leg” perches on the captain’s shoulder, barely standing on his one good leg. Swaying back and forth in rhythm to Captain Judd’s lazy eye “One Leg” mumbles nonstop.
Meet Captain Judd at our Dive classes! He is a master at making balloon animals for the kids and tells many a tale of his exploits upon the cruel lakes and ponds of Florida.
